Andrew Nutter presents the cheque for £4,000 to Melanie Caffrey from Springhill Hospice together with Hannah Powell, landlady of The Bird At Birtle, and Louise Scott from H Bell & Sons
Springhill Hospice fundraiser Melanie Caffrey was dished up a real treat this week when she visited Andrew Nutter’s new gastronomic venture, The Bird at Birtle.
Rochdale Man of the Year Andrew served up a cheque for a mouth-watering £4,000, which was raised in a golden ticket draw with purchasers hoping to win the chance of an invitation to the restaurant’s opening night.
Melanie Caffrey, Springhill Hospice Fundraiser, said: “Andrew has always been a big supporter of Springhill Hospice so when last year he was voted Rochdale’s Man of the Year we knew he’d been re-doubling his fundraising and awareness efforts. We were right. This cheque for £4,000 is from just one of his fundraisers.
"We’d like to thank Andrew and everyone who has joined in his fundraising for the Hospice and wish Andrew all the very best for his latest gastronomic venture at The Bird at Birtle, we’re sure it’s going to be another resounding success.”
