Year 9 Rounders Team

Well done to our Year 9 rounders team who finished in 3rd place at the Greater Manchester Catholic Cup Tournament. The girls gave an excellent account of themselves and only just missed out on being runners up by 1 rounder.

There was some fantastic fielding, particularly from Mia Dunne who made some great catches over fourth base and Kiza Amisi who stumped many out at second base. A great performance by all.

National Sporting Success

Congratulations to our very own Axel Tuanzebe who has made his first international debut for England Under 19s. Unfortunately they were defeated by Mexico, 2-0 but nonetheless, this is a great accomplishment for young Axel, who is currently playing regularly for Manchester United Under 21s. Keep up the hard work Axel!

Expressive Arts News

The Expressive Arts department have launched their appeal for auditions for our forthcoming production: “We Will Rock You”. The audition dates and times are as follows:
Year 8: Monday 13 June, 12.45pm
Year 7: Weds 15 June, 12.45pm.

The audition piece is Queen: We are the Champions.

We are extremely excited about this production and we can’t wait to watch the auditions!

Charlotte’s Angels

Final total: we have raised a huge £620 due to the kindness and generosity of many of our friends, staff and students. The money will be donated to Charlotte’s family in her memory.
Year of Mercy Basketball Match

We all know that our Priest, Fr. Gaspar has a love of basketball, he can often be found in our gym shooting some hoops. Fr. Gaspar has arranged a basketball tournament to be held here at St. Cuthbert’s on Monday 4 July to celebrate the Year of Mercy.

Father Gasper has put together a basketball team of Priests and we are putting together a team of pupils from Year 9, 10 and 11. This is a ticketed event and a certain number of spectators will be given permission to attend however; I sounds like it will be a wonderful occasion. The Year 9, 10 and 11 team best get training.
