Police launch investigation after 'suspicious' blaze ripped through Norden home

Police and fire crews are investigating after a family home was completely destroyed by a blaze in the early hours on Saturday morning.

Fire crews were on scene on Inchfield Close, Norden, for 13 hours to take hold of the blaze which had ripped through and gutted the family home, leaving all their possessions destroyed.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “This is being treated as a police matter now because it appears to be a suspicious fire.

“Crews from Rochdale and Heywood were on scene for 13 hours, taking them right through into Saturday afternoon."

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the fire had become a police matter and that an investigation is under way.
