Thursday 2 June
Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace the next of kin of John Keating, 51, who died on Wednesday 25 May. Mr Keating was living in Littleborough at the time of his death but is known to have previously resided in Grimsby, Lincolnshire and Sheffield.

Wednesday 1 June
Police are ramping up the fight against drink and drug drivers as part of a month-long operation. The initiative coincides with the warmer weather and European Championships, which police expect will bring with it more temptation to drive under the influence.

Tuesday 31 May
A driver had a lucky escape walking away after a three-car smash on Oldham Road resulted in a car overturned. Police closed off part of Oldham Road at around 9pm on Monday night (30 May) after a Renault Clio had flipped over and crashed on its roof following a collision with a Vauxhall Astra and an Audi A4.

A man from Rochdale has been jailed after he admitted sexually exploiting children online and police discovered thousands of indecent images of children on his computer.

Friday 27 May
Mohammed Hussain Syeedy, of Ramsay Street, Rochdale, entered a plea of not guilty to the murder of Jalal Uddin. Syeedy, 21, appeared at Manchester crown court via video-link from prison and also denied conspiring with others between 1 August 2015 and 19 February 2016 to murder Uddin.
