Beech House School

Date published: 01 June 2016

Year 7 pupils went to Skipton Castle to support their history work. Despite the rainy and overcast day, pupils were greeted with smiles when they arrived at the historic site. They had a tour guide who told them all about who built the castle and provided insights into daily medieval life. Pupils even had the chance to shoot out of murder holes.

They then visited the main rooms and even spent time in the dungeon before investigating the historically accurate toilet. Freddie Cowie even had a chance to experience the joy of this medieval luxury.

After the tour pupils enjoyed their lunch before visiting the castle shop.

Overall Year 7 enjoyed their experience of medieval life.
