Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 27 May 2016

Mr Moore and Miss Mullane were joined by colleagues from Marland Hill and the Sixth Form College on Thursday 26 May when Hamer sSchool was jointly nominated for a Rochdale Diversity Award for our Community Cohesion Project. The project was a runner up and we were very proud to be included at the event. Well done to our Community Cohesion Ambassadors.

Thank you to the parents and staff who supported the Fun day on Saturday 21 May. The event was really lovely and very well attended by the community and was a huge success. Mrs. Coward, who organised the event, was delighted with the day.

Miss Bradshaw and Mrs. Coward have been out to new families to meet the new Nursery children and start parent partnership relationships off; an aspect of Hamer life that school is so lucky to be able to nurture. The visits have been really successful so we thank the community for welcoming us into homes to get to know you all.

Springside school are having an extension built to its site around the back of their school. Minimum disruption is expected to Hamer but please can parents, be aware that there will be elements of the building site area that start to become visible in the coming weeks.

This is a plea to all parents to be really vigilant at the end of the school day. We have had one or two instances of children wandering off as their sociable parents stop to chat with playground friends. The playground is a busy and sociable time for families but we need to ensure that the children are close by their families at all times. Thank you.

Please can parents make sure you continue working on your child’s current Maths Passport with them over the holidays.

The school closed for half term on Friday 27 May and will re-open on Monday 6 June at 8.45am.
