Springy’s moonlit sprint or stroll

Date published: 28 May 2016

Springy’s Moonlit Sprint or Stroll will take place on Saturday 2 July.

Last year 120 men, women and children togged themselves up in a Springy the Hospice Frog costume to take on a 10km sprint or stroll, or even hop.

The sponsored walk starts and finishes at Rochdale’s Rugby Union Club, Bamford, with all the frogs being treated to a Zumba warm-up from Rochdale Zumba Queen Becky Smithies.

Lillie Winterbottom said: “At 9.30 pm our walkers frogs legs will have been warmed up and will be ready to go.

“Our froggies loved last year’s event, everything from an earlier start to a brighter less strenuous route meant everyone had a great time.”

Springy will set off the walk and be there to greet the walkers when they return with a commemorative medal, a well-earned bacon or veggie sandwich, a cup of tea and a big Springhill Smile.

With £7 out of every £10 needed to keep the doors of the Hospice open provided by the community, Springhill needs you to get involved. Springy’s Moonlit Sprint or Stroll last year raised nearly £10,000.

You, your friends, your family and your work colleagues can also join in the fun froggy fun and fundraise for Springhill Hospice.
