Man in his 70s hospitalised after his car overturned in collision

A man in his 70s was rushed to hospital after a two-car collision resulted in his car overturning in the middle of the road on Wednesday afternoon (25 May).
Police and paramedics were called to the A663 in Newhey shortly before 2.00pm after the man, who was driving a silver Kia which collided with a blue Ford Focus.
Officers closed the road in both directions while North West Ambulance Service attended to the man, who suffered a hand injury and a blow to the head.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers were called to the scene at 1.53 pm after calls that there had been a two-car collision. A man in his 70s was driving the silver Kia which overturned in the middle of the road."
The man was taken to Royal Oldham Hospital. No one else is believed to have been hurt in the incident.
