Industrial action affecting First Manchester bus services confirmed
Strike action will affect First Manchester bus services in Rochdale, Middleton, Oldham, Salford and parts of North Manchester on Tuesday (24 May).
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has added extra capacity to Metrolink’s Rochdale line but passengers are being warned all transport services and roads are likely to be busier during peak periods.
Passengers will be able to use their First and System One weekly and season tickets on Metrolink’s Rochdale and Eccles line, and on Northern Rail’s Eccles service. They should show their ticket when asked.
Howard Hartley, TfGM’s Head of Bus, said: “All services and roads are likely to be busier on Tuesday so please allow extra time for your journey and be patient if things take longer.
“Anyone whose journey could be affected should check before travelling to find out the latest information.”
Manchester’s free city centre Metroshuttle services are also affected and will not run on Tuesday.
Information has been posted at bus stops in affected areas and additional staff will be on hand at key interchanges to advise passengers.
