Springhill Hospice Dog Show and Traditional Country Fete
Date published: 18 May 2016
Springhill Hospice's fundraising team is gearing up for the Springhill Hospice Dog Show and Traditional Country Fete on Sunday 5 June at Rochdale Riding Club on Roch Valley Way.
Melanie Caffrey, Springhill's event co-ordinator said: "Last year’s Country Fete was amazing, there really was something for everyone. The day had such a wonderfully traditional feel about it, back to the good old days. We saw so many new families who had never supported the Hospice before and are looking forward to its return this year.
“One part of last year’s event in particular, the dog show, was a smash hit, so this year we’re making it bigger and better.
"The Springhill Hospice Dog Show and Country Fete is already attracting lots of interest from pooch owners all over the Borough. There are nine canine classes to choose from, so there is something for everyone’s four legged friend.
“It costs £8,200 a day to keep the doors of our hospice open and caring for the community free of charge. With the public raising £7 out of every £10 needed, the Hospice relies on the support and generosity of the community at events like this."
Roch Valley Radio will be compering the day with activities including everything from donkey rides, dog agility trials, nine class dog show, traditional fairground rides, PossAbilities Petting Zoo, RAFC penalty shootout, hawk and owl display, free circus workshop, stalls, games, Punch & Judy and a magic show, zorb balls, tug of war, assault course, face painting, food stalls, tombolas and lots of open space to park and play.
The Dog Show and Country Fete takes place from 11 am – 3 pm on Sunday 5 une at Rochdale Riding Club, Rochdale Valley Way, Rochdale OL11 4QH. A £1 entry donation is suggested and parking is free of charge and plentiful.
