Hopwood Hall College Fine Art students won the GMCG competition at Oldham College on Wednesday (11 May).
Nicola Karwat, Fine Art Tutor at Hopwood Hall College said: “The students wowed the panel of judges, gaining first place with their gallery space proposal.
“The theme of the competition was ‘Home’ connecting to current homeless issues in Manchester.
“As an artist they were required to pitch to the Galleries and present applications for taking part in exhibitions, projects and commissions.
“They were given three and a half hours to create a proposal for an exhibition and five minutes to present it as a team to the judges.”
The judges were Lee Ashworth from HOME, Denise Bowler from The Whitworth Gallery and Rachel Wood from Oldham Council.
