Tower Street and Pilsworth Road, Heywood
A man was attacked with an axe on Pilsworth Road in Heywood on Saturday (7 May)
Shortly after 10.00am police were called to the Tower Street and Pilsworth Road areas of Heywood to reports that a man with an axe was attacking vehicles and members of the public.
Officers attended and discovered a 45-year-old man had been attacked.
Shortly after officers arrived a 40-year-old man was detained by police on Tower Street after deploying a Taser to disarm the man.
The man has now been arrested on suspicion of assault and affray is currently being questioned by police.
The 45-year-old victim was taken to hospital. His injuries are understood to be minor.
