Hare Hill House hosts ceilidh

Date published: 09 May 2016

Hare Hill House, Littleborough played host to a Ceilidh on Saturday (7 May).

An enthusiastic group (age range nine to 'senior') enjoyed a great evening in a wonderful setting above Hare Hill Park.

Initial shuffling gave way to something more coordinated as dancers got to grips with the routines.

Music and instruction was provided by Alex Cumming and Nicola Beazley (fiddle and accordion) part way through their 'Across the Water UK Tour'.

"If you have good music and folk looking for a fun night you can't go far wrong", said Jan May.

The licensed bar quenched thirsts and appetites were sated by Whippy's pies as ancient floorboards creaked in the largely restored function room.

Jan added: "It was lovely to see smiles on faces in this beautiful building which is in the process of being reborn by, and for, the people of Littleborough."

The event was run by the volunteer members of Save Hare Hill House.
