Mrs Welsby is One in a Million!

Congratulations to Mrs Welsby who completed her first London Marathon. A million people took part in the race and Mrs Welsby got her personal best time of 3hrs 26mins. She had some support from some familiar faces, as well as other friends and family. Through her amazing achievement, Mrs Welsby has so far raised over £700 for Project Harar. There is still time to sponsor Mrs Welsby at:

Oliver Fibbs Author Causes Mayhem in Assembly

Steve Hartley, author of the Oliver Fibbs books, caused chaos in assembly last week, when his ‘bogey ball’ was thrown around the hall.

This featured in his book ‘The World’s Biggest Bogey’, about Danny Baker, a boy who wants to get into the Great Big Book of World Records. Steve’s brilliant assembly got the children thinking about ‘what if’ scenarios. So rather than going one route with a story, what if you changed this element, or this character, what would happen then?

Steve then went on to work with Year 4, giving them tips on how to become better writers and helping them to produce story boards. He will be coming back in May to do some further work with the class.
