Woman hospitalised after another Townhead Junction accident

Accident at Townhead Junction
A woman was rushed to hospital with head injuries on Sunday (1 May) after a two-car collision at Townhead Junction.
Police were called to the scene at 4.05pm after the 53-year-old woman, driving a blue Nissan Micra, had collided with a Peugeot car.
Concern remains high about the design of the junction, after a string of accidents took place following a re-design in November last year.
A right turn filter was installed last month in the hope of reducing the problem but at least two more accidents have occurred since, prompting concerns that the issue remains unresolved.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers attended the scene on the junction with John Street at 16.05pm. There were two cars involved, with no people trapped, but with one passenger taken to hospital by ambulance with head injuries.”
