JazBa adds spice to Heywood

Date published: 28 April 2016

N-Trance vocalist Kelly Llorena sampled some of the dishes at the grand opening of Heywood’s new spice and grill bar, JazBa, on Wednesday evening (27 April). X Factor contestant Babalola Ehidamen also appeared and entertained guests with a live performance.

Run by one of Rochdale’s leading Asian chefs, Farooq Ahmed, who used to own Veena’s restaurant and appeared in the celebrity kitchen of the Rochdale Feel Good Festival, JazBa is already a hit with locals.

Chef and founder Farooq Ahmed said: “It’s been incredible to see the amount of people coming here to support us tonight. There are about 200, which is absolutely fantastic.”

He added: “I have to publicly thank my wife Shefali for the work she has put into all this. It is a family business and without her there is no way I could have done what I have. She has been amazing.”
