Brown’s Cake Shop burgled
Burglars hacked their way into Brown’s Cake Shop in the early hours of Monday morning.
The offenders used what police describe as an “unknown implement” to hack their way through the front door of the shop, on St Mary’s Gate, at 2.30am, forcing entry and stealing money from the till.
Shop owner Natasha Brown said: “I’m just glad that they didn’t make a mess of the shop, but it is sad that we were targeted like this. They took money out of the till but thankfully left everything else alone.”
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers attended the shop on St Mary’s Gate in the early hours of Monday morning after calls that there had been a burglary.”
No arrests have been made and officers are keen for anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible.
