The Mayor and Mayoress, Surinder and Cecile Biant, took part in the Middleton Scout and Guide Associations St George’s Day Parade from St Leonard's Church to Middleton Gardens.

The parade went along Long Street, Durnford Street, onto Rectory Street, Wood Street and into Middleton Gardens today, Sunday 24 April.

The salute was taken on the bottom section of Wood Street by Mayor and Mayoress of Rochdale, Surinder and Cecile Biant.

Liz McInnes MP said: “It’s been a good turnout again. I always love coming to this parade, seeing all the various age groups. I am constantly impressed by the hours the leaders and volunteers must put into the groups.”
