Flying Horse landlord renames his pub grub in heartfelt Prince tribute

The 'Purple Reign' specials board
The landlord of the Flying Horse Hotel who is a dedicated Prince fan has renamed his meals in memory of the late star.
Ben Boothman came up with the idea of taking Prince’s most famous songs and making puns out of them to match the dishes on the menu, including 'The most beautiful grill in the world' and all day brunch called 'Breakfast can wait'.
Although playful puns have been used to brighten up the specials board, owner Ben says is represents a deeper tribute to Prince, as he shares his sorrow with the rest of Rochdale after hearing the star had died.
He said: “I’m a Prince fan. Everybody is Prince fan. I didn’t just do this for myself, I did it to share a collective feeling with all the other music lovers in Rochdale.
“We have already had a massive response from people who not only enjoy the play on words but can recognise the genuine tribute and honour that we are giving to Prince.”
“I think some of the dishes Prince himself would be proud of.”
The specials board, which currently has the title 'Purple Reign', presents a burger called 'Party like it’s £19.99', along with a vegetarian option 'Little Red Courgette'.
Ben added: “Everyone has come together to pay this tribute. Even the bands that are playing tonight are going to be playing special Prince songs. We are expecting a really good turnout.”
