Asda is urgently recalling a pasta salad amid fears of salmonella contamination.
The Rochdale town centre superstore and the Asda supermarket on Kingsway are amongst the stores recalling the chicken and sweetcorn pasta salad with the ‘use by’ date of 23 April 2016 on a “precautionary basis” after potentially deadly bacteria was found in a random sample.
A notice has been put up in the stores which reads: "Asda is recalling its Chicken and Pasta Salad 400g with the above date code on a precautionary basis, because salmonella has been found during routine testing of one sample.
"If you have purchased this product, please do not eat it.
"What you should do; if you have purchased Chicken and Pasta Salad 400g with the above date code please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund.
"You do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused."
