HGV crashes through central barrier on Spotland Road

A heavy goods vehicle crashed through the central barrier outside Lidl on Spotland Road this morning (Tuesday 19 April).
The HGV was stuck causing long delays and led to bus services being diverted.
First Manchester said:: “Due to a HGV blocking Spotland Rd in Rochdale, 438 Service is diverted via College Rd in both directions.”
Police spokesman said: “We can confirm a lorry got stuck this morning on Spotland Road, officers attended, but the lorry was removed by the haulier company.”
A Lidl spokesman said: "We can confirm that a lorry was involved in an incident on Spotland Road this morning. A representative from the haulier company arrived on site shortly after to assist in resolving the situation. Thankfully, no one was injured."
