Spotland Stadium to host Petrus sleep out

Date published: 18 April 2016

Spotland Stadium will play host to the Petrus Sleep Out 2016 on Friday (22 April).

The event will see around 30 volunteers sleeping out under the stars to highlight the plight of those who have no other option but to sleep rough.

The Sleep Out is a fundraising event and aims to raise money for vulnerable people in the borough of Rochdale and help provide frontline services for women and men in housing need. It is supported by the Mayor's charity.

The Petrus Community is a registered charity providing residential and day support services for people in housing need throughout the Borough of Rochdale (including Heywood and Middleton), Rossendale and Oldham. Petrus believes people should have access to safe, secure, quality housing.

They exist to support a wide range of people in housing need and develop their skills, independence and choice. They have a strong commitment to actively involving the people who use their services in shaping how we work.

It's not too late to register to take part. If you would like to support this event by sleeping out, then please contact sonia.denham@petrus.org.uk or call 01706 354826 to receive a sponsor pack.

Last year's event raised over £4,000 and they want to exceed that this year.
