Spring Fair raises £431 for NSPCC

Date published: 18 April 2016

Fisherfield Childcare’s Spring Fair at their Edinburgh Way nursery was a real family affair, with parents, grandparents, siblings and even cousins turning up to support the event.

Attractions at the fair, on Saturday (16 April), included a bouncy castle, raffle, cake stall, tombola and food and drink stalls.

The event raised £431 and all proceeds are to be donated to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), which is Fisherfield Childcare’s chosen charity. Last year Fisherfield Childcare raised more than £13,000 for the NSPCC, and they are on target to beat that figure this year.

Edinburgh Way nursery manager Nadia Salim said: “It has been great to see everyone, all the families who have come along to support this event, and it’s been lovely to see the children having so much fun.

“I would like to thank all the staff who have given up their Saturday to raise money for the NSPCC and the people and companies who have been so generous with their donations, including Play Factore, Sea Life, Legoland, Strike Ten, Planet Play, Jen Hair, Elegant Nails, Beauty by Donna, Manzil, Odeon Cinemas, Rochdale Football Club, Sizzzling Pub and Tilly’s Tea Room.”

The spring fair was the first in a series of events marking the 20th birthday of the Edinburgh Way’s parent company, Norden-based Fisherfield Childcare. The Edinburgh Way nursery, near Sandbrook Retail Park, Rochdale, is one of 11 settings across Rochdale, Bury and Middleton run by Fisherfield Childcare. The company was founded by Nicky and David MacGill.
