Billie Metcalfe, from Rochdale, was one of the beneficiaries after Bury College Business Administration students took the challenge to learn about business and raise money to change the lives of others.
Staff and student hosted an event where they presented a cheque to help Bury College New Horizons students, many of whom have profound and multiple learning difficulties.
Students Billie Metcalfe, from Rochdale, and John Green, from Bury, attended the presentation to collect the cheque with their team leader Rhiannon Warren. They are now able to benefit from a sensory garden, complete with lights and sounds to encourage and stimulate enjoyment of learning.
A spokesperson said: "The students learned a lot about business from organising raffles, a football tournament, and working together to ensure the success of the events. They also gained an important insight into the lives of those less fortunate, and how their donations will help."
