Investigation launched after 2am house blaze

House fire on Whitworth Road
Police and fire crews have launched a joint investigation after a house fire on Whitworth Road this morning (Tuesday 12 April).
Police dogs, fire crews and CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) teams have been on scene all morning as police officers cordoned off the area.
The house was ablaze at approximately 2.00am, with emergency services rushing to the scene shortly after.
Greater Manchester Police said that nobody was in the house at the time, although investigations are ongoing as to whether it will be treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three fire engines attended the scene and were tackling the blaze for two hours.
