Inmate mounts Buckley Hall prison roof

Date published: 04 April 2016

A prisoner from Buckley Hall climbed onto the roof and had to be coaxed down by staff yesterday afternoon (Sunday 3 April).

Police attended the scene at 3.00pm after passers-by spotted the man walking around on the chapel roof.

The prisoner took three hours to be finally coaxed down from the building top, and is believed to be uninjured.

Paramedics also attended but were not needed.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that they attended and that nobody was injured in the incident.
