Friday 1 April

Following a dispute over money, two males aged 35 and 41 assaulted a victim then stamped on his phone preventing him calling 999.

Thursday 31 March

A man tried to abduct a 12-year-old schoolgirl as she was walking along Manchester Road in Heywood at around 3.25pm on Thursday (24 March). The man pulled up alongside the girl and wound down the window and shouted at the girl: “Get it in the car, I don’t want to say it again get in the car.”

Wednesday 30 March

Bogus callers pretending to be from the council are targeting homes and stealing valuables from vulnerable residents. Contact police if it happens to you.

GMP Specials assisting with thieves at an address in Rochdale, on attendance a large cannabis farm was found. One male arrested.

GMP Specials busy with two domestics, a missing person and a foot chase after a wanted male for theft.

A police officer had to be cut from his car after a collision on St Mary’s Gate. The driver of a silver Seat lost control, crossed the central reservation and spun into the police car which was driving in the opposite direction.

Tuesday 29 March

Banned driver Balal Amin who led police on a high speed chase through the streets has been put behind bars.

Police and fire crews express frustration with youths who set a pile of rubbish alight at Albert Mill, Whitworth.

Customers ran for their lives as a driver rammed his car four times into the front of the Auto Shop on Milkstone Road, minutes after going in to ask if there was CCTV installed.

Police attend Old Post Office Ale House after another break in, the second one in weeks.4

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was sexually assaulted on Abbott Street, Rochdale.

Sunday 27 March

Five men were arrested after a brawl broke out on Oswald Street in the early morning of Easter Sunday.
