St Michael’s Church
Having been beautifully restored following a major fire in March 2015, the leaders of St Michael’s Church are launching a fundraising campaign with the aim of turning the church into a hub of community activity.
The campaign, to raise either £275,000 for a ground floor scheme or £430,000 to create an upper floor, is being launched at a celebration dinner which is being held at Rochdale Golf Club on Saturday 9 April.
The ambitious plan will see the interior re-ordered by creating a community hall. The existing pews will be removed and new kitchen and toilet facilities will be installed together with a new heating system. The facilities will be opened up to the people of Bamford.
Since 1877 St Michael’s has provided a religious focus for countless generations of people or worship, christenings, weddings and funerals.
In addition, the school has provided generations of children with an education which draws its roots from The Christian heritage.
