Date published: 01 April 2016

Actress Sue Devaney was the guest of The Rotary Club of Rochdale East on Tuesday 29 March at The Success to the Plough.

Sue treated the club to a talk on her career in general and more specifically on her recent role as Gracie Fields in the play “Our Gracie” which has just finished at the Oldham Coliseum.

Sue entertained the Rotary club giving details of her roles in television shows such as Coronation Street, Casualty and Dinner ladies as well as her experiences in her role of Rosie in the musical Mamma Mia.

President Graham Knox and members of the Rotary club were delighted that Sue could join them and their guests for the evening.

Sue Devaney commented: “Had a smashing time with the Rotary Club. Great company, lovely chats and I even got a scrumptious tea with a pudding included. Perfect evening."

Seb Lassandro, the chairman of the Gracie Fields Appreciation Society, gave a brief summary of the life of Gracie Fields.
