In the early hours of the following morning, Shaun sadly died and police were called.

A post mortem later revealed that he had a number of unexplained injuries and an investigation has been launched.

Detective Inspector Kate Atton of GMP’s Rochdale Division: “First and foremost I would like to extend our sincere condolences to Shaun Lee Weatherhead’s friends and family as they come to term with their tragic loss.

“We are not sure how Shaun got the injuries which were revealed in the post mortem and as such we are currently treating his death as unexplained and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen him during his last few days.”

Anybody with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 454 of 28/03/16, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
