Ring and Ride service
Ring & Ride customers are being reminded to make sure they carry their Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) pass when they travel from Monday 4 April.
From next week there will be some changes to who is eligible to use Ring & Ride, how groups can book places, and fares.
Ring & Ride operator Greater Manchester Accessible Transport Limited (GMATL) has already written to all customers.
Ring & Ride will continue to provide accessible transport to people of any age who can demonstrate that they find it difficult or impossible to use public transport.
From 4 April Ring & Ride users must demonstrate this by one of the following:
- Holding a TfGM Concessionary Plus Pass.
- Holding a TfGM Concessionary Disabled Person Pass.
- Being aged 70 years old* or over, with mobility issues and holding a TfGM Over 60 Concessionary Pass.
- Being a TfGM Travel Voucher user.
Passengers must show their pass on each trip to travel and qualify for the concessionary fare.
Trip requests can be made up to seven days in advance. Regular group travel for six people or more can be requested for periods of up to three months.
The Ring & Ride fares and fare structure will also be revised from 4 April, with no changes having been made to the single fare since 2011, almost five years ago.
Information about the changes is available at www.tfgm.com/ringandride. Anyone who wants to find out more can contact Ring & Ride on 0161 200 6011.
The changes follow a review of the service aimed at ensuring the people who need to use Ring & Ride the most continue to benefit.
* Anyone who turns 70 years old between 4 April and 30 June 2016 will remain eligible to use the service during this period.
