Van smashes through fencing on Drake Street
A van rolled down Drake Street, Rochdale yesterday morning (Friday 25 March) from outside an appliance shop, opposite the Metro stop.
The driverless van went over tram tracks and on mounting the kerb smashed through fencing coming to rest on pavement opposite Pizza Hut at Wet Rake Gardens, Oldham Road.
Darren Sutcliffe said: “I drove round and realised it was driverless, it had rolled so I went up Drake Street and asked if their van was meant to be parked outside the appliance shop.
“Four men ran down road to van, when I came back two minutes later it was gone.”
