Schoolgirl hit by motorbike in Heywood

A 12-year-old schoolgirl was hospitalised after being hit by a motorbike in Heywood on Wednesday (23 March) morning.
Emergency services, including the North West Ambulance Service Air Ambulance, arrived at the scene Pilsworth Road at 8.15am after the girl was found lying in the road with leg injuries. She had been crossing the road with a friend when the incident happened.
The man riding the motorbike suffered injuries to his arms. Both casualties were taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The second girl was shaken up by the incident but did not need medical attention.
