Matthew Moss 0 - 6 Falinge Park High School

Date published: 23 March 2016

A depleted Team Falinge put themselves on the brink of promotion after a game bursting with Goal of the Season contenders on Tuesday 22 March.

Team Falinge attacked from the off creating a number of good chances and hitting the woodwork 4 times before the opening goal of the game.

The first Goal of the Season contender was scored from a corner by Trey Doyle, who with his back to goal took control of a high ball on the chest, knocked it back over the defender before swivelling and volleying the ball into the bottom corner.

Harry Roche then gave Goal of the Season panel something to think about when he took control of a bouncing ball 25 yards out and found the top corner with a powerful swerving drive. The two goal advantage was more than Team Falinge deserved despite a backdrop of having 5 players missing, with debuts handed to Mohsen Nasar and Anzar Ali.

Half time 0-2.

Half-time and Team Falinge were left mesmerised by the tactical acumen shown by the managerial duo Mr Jundi and Mr Hodgson.

Second half saw Team Falinge storm further into the lead with Callum Harrison curling in a stunning corner before an own goal further increased the Falinge lead.

The victory was secured when Chris Bonde put away a classy finish and the Falinge goal machine Tom Hartley completing the scoring. The second half was a strong showing by Team Falinge with Noorul Islam and Trey Doyle particularly strong and sharing the Man of the Match award.

Full time 0-6.

As the league season draws to a close the Falinge management are constantly impressed with the teamwork, resilience and commitment shown by all the boys.

Squad: Liam Dawson, Trey Doyle, Kamrul Hussain (c), Noorul Islam, Tom Hartley, Atif Latif, Chris Bonde, Mohsen Nasar, Anzar Ali, Callum Harrison and Harry Roche.
