'Wella' done Sarah Fleming and Stephanie Waring

Date published: 22 March 2016

Sarah Fleming and Stephanie Waring have been selected to compete in the Northern regional heat of the Wella Professional student competition – Wella Xposure.

To win the first round, entrants had to create a commercial cut, colour and style and submit a photograph of their finished look to the judges.

Sarah, 19, from Rochdale, and Stephanie, 27, from Heywood, who are studying hairdressing at Hopwood Hall College, created their winning looks to secure their places in the heats.

They submitted their photos and were delighted to find out that their work had been selected by the judges. Sarah said: “This is a springboard opportunity for up-and-coming hairdressing students; the prize of shadowing an international hair designer is invaluable.”

Anna Lockwood, Hair and Media Tutor, is very proud of the students, she said “They have worked very hard to get to this point. I wish them every success in the regional competition.”

The students will now have to recreate their finished looks on models in front of a panel of judges. If they win the Manchester heat, which will be held on 13 April, they will go through to the finals in London.

The overall winner of the competition will walk away with a great prize including a day shadowing a hairdressing icon, £1,000 worth of Wella training vouchers, a tool kit to the value of £500 and a trophy.
