New benches in Balderstone Park

Councillor Farnell takes a seat at one of the new disabled-friendly benches in Balderstone Park
Two new benches - specially designed for disabled people and wheelchair users - have been installed in Balderstone Park.
Local councillor Richard Farnell said: "These are a great addition to the park and help make it much more welcoming to people with disabilities.
"The idea of the specially designed benches came from the Friends of Balderstone Park and local councillors were happy to chip in with the funds to buy and install them. They cost £2,900 and it was money well spent
"Balderstone Park goes from strength-to-strength thanks to a hard-working group of volunteers who make up the friends' group.
"Further improvements in the pipeline are a new community room attached to the library, changing rooms so that adjoining fields can be turned into sports pitches and a small café area."
