Oakenhoof's Oakenyouth Win DERTy 2016

Date published: 19 March 2016

This year Manchester hosted the Dance England Rapper Tournament, DERT 2016, at the Peoples' History Museum, five pubs (The Gaslamp, The Ape and Apple, The Old Monkey, The Font & The Lass O' Gowrie) and The O2 Ritz.

Thirty Rapper Sword Dancing teams competed in all the venues culminating in a showcase at The Ritz.

Littleboroughs' own Oakenhoof entered their junior side, Oakenyouth, into the DERT 2016 youth competition (DERTy).

It was their first time at the event, and have trained hard over the last six months to be sure they gave it their best shot.

There were five teams competing in the Youth competition, which took place at The Peoples' History Museum.

They performed a few showcase dances, and two judged dances. And, after about four hours of dancing and waiting about, Oakenyouth were named as DERTy Champions 2016.
