Whittaker Moss Easter Cake competition

Date published: 18 March 2016

The Children of Whittaker Moss Primary School have been getting egg-cited for Easter with some home baking.

The competition has become somewhat of an annual event at the Norden School with parents assisting their children to create their own tasty treats and cakes.

As expected, the children cooked up a storm and provided the school with an incredible number of cakes, buns and cupcakes to sell in a bake sale held on Monday afternoon.

The competition was judged by Crimble Hall’s "cake-aholic", General Manager Gaynor Walton, who had the arduous task of judging the winners in each age category who were:

Nursery & Reception

1) Preston
2) Ted
3) Jessica

Year 1&2

1) James
2) Anna
3) Ava

Year 3&4

1) Annabel
2) Sam
3) Ben

Year 5&6

1) Milly
2) Lucy
3) Elizabeth & Ruby

Always happy for the chance to enjoy some cake, Gaynor said: “I can’t believe how many entries there were. They all worked so hard, it was very difficult to pick winners.

“I hope the children enjoyed making their cakes as much as I enjoyed judging them.”

The winners were awarded prizes provided by the parent teacher association who helped coordinate the event.
