Rochdale is the tenth most deprived town in England, an Office for National Statistics study into housing and poverty has found.
The north-west of England has five of the ten most deprived towns and cities, with neighbouring Oldham the most deprived town in England.
The study considered factors such as income, employment, health, education, skills and training and crime.
It also looked at disability, access to housing and the built environment in cities and towns in England and Wales.
