Feel Good Festival dates confirmed

Date published: 17 March 2016

The Feel Good Festival 2016 will return on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 August.

In its ninth year, the biggest free music and food festival in the north west will include live music across indoor venues, a main stage against the backdrop of the town hall and Stage 2 - the community stage. Chefs and food producers will host live cooking demonstrations throughout the event which will also include the popular food market.

Councillor Janet Emsley, our Cabinet Member for Culture, Health and Wellbeing said: "We have already signed some superb acts as we look to build on the success of the festival which attracts thousands of people into the town centre to enjoy fabulous live music, food, arts and entertainment.

"It's an unmissable couple of days for friends and family to enjoy, and as always there will be big names and the best in emerging talent. The festival helps to create a real buzz and is a fantastic showcase for both local residents and visitors. Every year we try to give visitors something new and this year will not disappoint."

Performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

A local band will get chance to open the main stage on the Saturday. The competition will be launched in April with local acts encouraged to apply to win the slot.
