£18,000 - now that’s truly Santa Cl-awesome!

Date published: 15 March 2016

If last December you dressed up as Santa and ran, walked, strolled, meandered and pootled around Hollingworth Lake with 615 other red and white adorned Springhill supporters you helped smash the previous record for the most Santas and also played a central role in smashing the fundraising total.

In 2014 The Santa Dash or Dawdle raised £15,500. So far the 2015 10th Birthday Santa Dash or Dawdle has raised £18,000.

Lillie Winterbottom, Hospice Community Fundraiser, said: “From all the doctors, nurses, patients, families, volunteers and staff at Springhill Hospice and from your community, thank you for taking part and thank you to all your amazing Santa sponsors. Give yourself a massive pat on the back and walk around with a big Springhill Smile on your face, you should be very proud of yourself.

“Total still climbing – keep your eyes peeled for news of this total increasing. With supporters still to send in sponsor money we’re hoping this fundraising total can be an even bigger boost to hospice funds. To all those yet to send their sponsor money in, come on, be part of an exciting final fundraising total announcement.”
