The sun shone, birds sang and flowers bloomed at Springhill Hospice on Sunday (13 March) as hundreds of visitors took advantage of the crisp Spring day to visit the Springtime Easter wonderland for the day.

With over 40 stalls, both inside the Hospice and in the award winning gardens, visitors were spoilt for choice.

On offer to the hosts of visitors were everything from handbags to hanging baskets, pizzas to pancakes, cupcakes to curry.

Good fun was had by all as families took part in chocolate tombolas, hook a duck and enjoyed the delights of the Hospices new wood fired pizza oven, turning out freshly baked pizzas.

Mel Caffrey, Springhill Fundraiser and Spring Fair organiser, said: “We couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was a lovely relaxed afternoon.

“People could enjoy the goodies on offer inside the Hospice and outside in our flower and vegetable gardens.

“The Spring Fair provided a wonderful family day out with a bonus for the Hospice, the event raised a record amount of cash, over £7,500 so far with funds still being counted.

“We were astounded at the generosity of the public and would like to thank everyone who joined us on Sunday.”

Sarah Ford, Springhill’s Income Services Manager, said: “By coming to events like this year on year, the community reinforce their support for the Hospice and the work of our doctors and nurses both at the Hospice and out in the Borough.
