Kingsway 0 v 2 Falinge Park

Date published: 14 March 2016

Falinge Football Team took a major leap towards securing top spot in this top of the table clash on Thursday 10 March.

Team Falinge began solidly with defence being the best form of attack, soaking up the Kingsway pressure and striking on the counter. On one such attack Kamrul Hussain weaved his magic down the right wing turning the defender inside out and crossing for the Falinge goal machine Tom Hartley to tap in the opening goal.

Half time 0-1

Half-time and in the absence of Mr Jundi (aka Van Gaal), Team Falinge were awestruck by the tactical mastery given by the better half of their managerial duo, Mr Hodgson (aka Giggs).

Second half and a tactical reshuffle saw Team Falinge increase their midfield dominance and the number of efforts on goal. With Kingsway not able to breach the imperious Falinge defence lead by man of the match Trey Doyle, a second Falinge goal would always kill the game.

Chances came and went for Tom, Kamrul and Mizanur before a nice passing move set Mizanur free and as he closed in on the goal his legs were taken from underneath him. Tom Hartley stepped up to take the penalty and successfully beat the keeper to secure the victory. Full time 0-2.

This game also doubled up as a cup game and Team Falinge are now through to the semi-finals.

Squad: Liam Dawson (c), Matthew Macrae, Trey Doyle, Saqib Ahmed, Atif Latif, Kamrul Hussain, Tahsin Asraf, Chris Bonde, Noorul Islam, Tom Hartley, Yusuf Khan, Mizanur Rahman and Harry Roche
