Hamer Community Primary School

The amazing Hamer Glee Club took part in the Rochdale Music Festival on Tuesday 8 March. Despite being very nervous, the girls overcame this and performed “It’s a hard knock life” from the musical “Annie” in front of an audience of over 200 people! They received a prestigious honours award for their entertaining and professional performance.

A reminder, that the time for dropping off for Breakfast Club and Booster Classes is 8.15am. Thank you

Please can we ask that parents continue to support children with their Maths Passports as part of their homework each week. It is vital that children are able to recall these basic facts with speed if they are to become confident and fluent mathematicians and this can only stand them in good stead for later life.

SATS week this year is week commencing Monday 9 May for Year 6 and the Year 2 Assessments take place throughout the month of May. Phonics testing week in Key Stage 1 will be 13 – 17 June.

Thank you to all parents who were able to come in to have parent consultation sessions this week. As always, it was great to welcome so many proud parents to work in partnership with. Any parents who did not manage to make their allotted time please contact your child’s class teacher to rearrange an appointment.

We urge the following points of action to keep children safe:
• No double parking on Calder St
• No driving back out of Calder St onto the dual carriageway – please use the school ramp one-way system
• No dropping children off on the ramp
Thank you for the support and co-operation for keeping all of our wonderful children and families safe on their journey to and from school.
