Car recovered from Hollingworth Lake – driver hospitalised

Toyota Landcruiser being recovered from Hollingworth Lake
The car which was driven into Hollingworth Lake on Monday night was recovered this morning (8 March) by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
Work was continued through the morning to remove the Toyota Landcruiser, which drove into the water at approximately 8.00pm last night.
The North West Ambulance has confirmed that the driver of the vehicle was safe, but was taken to Fairfield General Hospital.
Greater Manchester Police said: “Officers were called to the scene at 8.20pm. There are no suspicious circumstances behind the incident.”
