Touchstones awarded Visit England Welcome Accolade

Date published: 07 March 2016

Touchstones Rochdale, the borough’s award-winning Arts and Heritage Centre, has been awarded the Visit England Welcome Accolade.

VAQAS (Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme) is managed by Visit England and through its network of regional assessors; it boasts an incredible reputation for instigating, modifying and shaping change to the customer experience at visitor attractions across England.

Following their annual VAQAS Inspection, Touchstones Rochdale received a score of 96% for their excellent customer service and for going the extra mile, ensuring that their visitors are really well looked after.

The results were then forwarded to the Visit England Panel, whereby the panel awarded Touchstones Rochdale the Visit England Welcome Accolade in recognition of their achievement. The panel felt the staff at Touchstones Rochdale were truly deserving of this recognition.

Visitor Services Manager at Touchstones Rochdale, Jane Lowe said: “On behalf of my teams, in the Visitor Information Centre and the Arts and Heritage Attendants, we are proud that Visit England has recognised the quality of our visitor experience. I am really proud to receive this award for Touchstones Rochdale.”

Tom Besford, Arts and Heritage Manager, added: “I’m really pleased that we have received this nationally significant award. Touchstones Rochdale showcases what is best about our Borough, and our staff here exemplify this.”
