Date published: 03 March 2016

Four young men were assaulted by four other young males in an unprovoked attack as they were walking towards Sandbrook Park, Rochdale.

The victims, suffered minor injuries, were attacked around 7.30pm on on 25 February 2016.

The attack has had a lasting effect on the victims who are now wary of going out alone.

CCTV enquiries have proved inconclusive and enquiries are ongoing.

A description of one male offender is: Asian, aged 16-18 years old, approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall. He had black stubble. He was wearing a dark coloured cap with a bendy peak, grey baggy tracksuit bottoms and had a silver stud in his right ear.

The other three males were described as Asian, 15-20 years old and wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Amanda McPartland from GMP’s Rochdale North Integrated Neighbourhood Policing team said: “This was an unprovoked attack against four innocent teenage boys who have been clearly upset by this incident which has affected their confidence to go out again. We are appealing for any witnesses or information the public can offer as to who was responsible for this.”

Anyone with any information should call 101.
