‘The Pitman Painters’ Oldham Coliseum Theatre Visit

Mr Mvula and Ms Hoyle took students to Oldham Coliseum theatre this week to see the production of ‘The Pitman Painters.

The visit was organised as part of our Oldham Coliseum Partnership Status. The drama tells the tale of the miners who stayed down the coal pits until retirement and then became an art world phenomenon. Well done to the students who took part in the visit and who had a great time.

Year 8 Drama Oldham Coliseum Backstage Tour

Mr Mvula took a group of Year 8 students to Oldham Coliseum this week to attend a backstage tour of the theatre.

The visit involved a tour of the various departments that comprise a professional theatre and the group gained insight about the production process at the venue. The students went on set of the latest production, ‘The Pitman Painters’ and took part in a range of short activities.

Many thanks to the Oldham Coliseum theatre for opening their doors to us and to all the staff and students for such a memorable day.

On the outskirts of his settlement, a shamen meets a strange young orphan girl, Scar and they form an uneasy friendship. When Ulfar’s followers start to gather in the hunt for the murderer, Scar must decide whether families can be forged rather than inherited. The Shamen thinks that the mark down Scar’s arm was made by a sabretooth cat but they died out several thousand years ago, didn’t they?
