Hamer Community Primary School

Date published: 26 February 2016

A great first week, we would like to thank our children and families coming back to school for the new term so smart and enthusiastic about their learning.

The Citizens of the week for week ending 26 February 2016 are Upper Key Stage 2 for their fantastic behaviour on their trip to see ‘Goodnight Mr Tom ‘ at the Manchester Opera House.

On the back of 26 February newsletter, parents will see how a member of the public felt compelled to send a tweet out to compliment our children on their fantastic behaviour on their trip to the theatre this week. We are so proud of our children for the way they consistently represent the school and their families when off-site.

Mrs Hoyle has sent home recently a world book day letter. The event will take place on Thursday 3rd March. Please can parents read the letter carefully to give your children the chance to take full part in the day.

Miss Birchenough returned from the first Year 4 swimming session buzzing with praise and excitement and was happy to report that all children, even those who had expressed some anxieties were really brave and overcame their worries. There were no tears, just full participation from all. Well done year 4- we’re really proud of you!

The Calder Street area in the morning is increasingly congested with double parking and parents going back down Calder Street to exit to the dual carriageway. It really is a danger-zone for our children so we request parents please:

• No double parking at all
• Always exit Calder Street by joining the safer stream of traffic by turning right through the school gates and down the ramp. Thank you

We love our keen children and families being on time and punctual for before school activities. However, people are so keen, they are arriving too early. We do not have staff to care for the children at this time so it is really important that children arrive just before the planned start of an activity and not more than 5 minutes before. Thank you to parents for the understanding and clearly we do not want to encourage anybody to be late.

Well done to all the Hamer Stars of the Week for week ending 26 February they are:

Nursery am – Samad
Nursery pm- Eman
Reception - Adeeba & Amelia

Mrs Casey –Arissa
Miss Nicholson – Munnazah

Miss Ashraf - Arbaz
Mr Nadin - Areej

Well done to Miss Ashraf and Mr Nadin’s classes for best attendance for week ending 12 February 2016. Please can parents, support us by ensuring children are on time and in school every day.
