REAG warns people not to discard cans near tram tracks
Date published: 25 February 2016
Members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group have expressed their concern over cans being discarded near tram tracks.
Group members braved the rain and very cold weather on Saturday (20 February) to clean the Back of the Drake Street, St Chad's Close, Caton Street and the open area near the tram track on Drake Street and found lots of cans scattered on the open area near the tram tracks.
A spokesperson for REAG said: "There are bins provided and they should be throwing these cans into these bins and not on the streets, roads or open area.
"Rochdale is our town and we have a social and moral responsibility to keep our town clean."
